THE DIRECTOR: Beau Dorian
The Director of Junior Footy Stars Beau Dorian has had an extensive background in the football landscape whether at Grassroots Level or at the Elite Level in the AFL. Beau’s football knowledge and ability to be able to teach kids not only the fundamentals of AFL, but also the finer points to become an elite footballer is second to none. Beau completed a Bachelor of Business/Sport Management degree at Latrobe University which concluded in 2013. While he was completing his studies in his final year, he was offered a 12 month placement with the Carlton Football Club. During this time, his work impressed the leaders at the footy club and Carlton offered him paid employment, which he thoroughly enjoyed, working on matchdays and being around the AFL players daily.
At the end of his work with Carlton, he completed a mentoring program with children from Carlton Primary School. He was offered paid work at the Primary school during this time, and this is where his love for helping kids to grow up and be the best they can be stemmed from. Following this, Beau was then offered a role as a Manager of a Junior Footy Academy in the South Eastern Suburbs. In this position he would run not only the day-to-day operations of the business, but also coach at the programs that this academy would run on a weekly basis. Beau loved his time working for the organisation, getting to teach young children to work on their basic skills and football development.
At the end of his employment at this company, Beau then became an integral part of another footy skills-based academy located in the Northern Suburbs. Beau worked for this company for many years in control of the daily operations and built a database from approximately 1200 players when he began to 7000 players. Beau believes this was due to his wonderful work ethic and treating not only the players and their parents with amazing service, but everyone around him who worked with him with the highest level of respect. As well as fulfilling his time with this position, he also worked for another company where he would go out and coach school kids football including match days. Beau worked with several schools all over Melbourne.
He believes that over his 10 years since he finished high school, he has coached over 2000 junior players with the aim of helping them develop into stars. Beau has several current and former AFL players as friends and looks forward to introducing them to Junior Footy Stars. Beau would like to thank everyone who has helped him along his journey in the football industry and looks forward to this exciting new venture helping young footballers develop into JUNIOR STARS.
Beau’s Motto: “Train with the intensity you would normally play with on game day. Your footy will improve as a result of it”.
